My new boss and co-worker Melodie has a brother who is a professional illustrator. Today I decided to check out his online comic strip, "Life of Ronnie". He posts a new one every Monday and Thursday.

A few weeks ago, I went to see Blue Man Group with my friends Candace and Dennis. It was Dennis' treat, as he had given me the ticket as a birthday present back in May. The theme of the tour was "How to Be a Mega-Star", so Dennis gave the evening a rock star theme by picking me up in a limo along with a few other friends, then taking us out for supper, and after the concert, taking us to his friends' recording studio for a late night drum lesson.

The Blue Men were awesome!!! I knew it would be a visually stimulating show, but it was also funny and the music was really good. We were in the second row. I was scared that I would get hit with paint, but apparently they used less than they use in Las Vegas. The audience got to participate by doing "Rock Star Movements" such as "The One Armed Fist Pump" and "Raise the Roof", when the screen told us to. They had a full band backing them up. They did a lot of the percussion, including playing a baby grand piano tipped on it's side by hitting the strings like a gong. However, I was surprised that most of the lyrics to their songs were quite depressing. Dennis had me listening to their CD in the limo before the show.

I made it to the highest floor
By working every day
But I can’t remember anymore what it was like to play
If I could only find the exit door, I’d run away

I’m so far in, I can’t get out
So far in, I can’t get out
So far in, I can’t get out

The opening act was Mike Relm, a DJ from San Francisco who mixes audio and video. Here is a clip of him mixing the "'O' Face" clip from Office Space

Click here to play Die Anstalt, which I think means "The Asylum" in German. It's an online game where you act as the psychiatrist for mistreated stuffed animals!

"In a souless world, it's inhabitants spineless, spoiled by a consumerist culture, and yet lonely ... this gives birth to frustration and makes one even lonelier. The last friend remaining is the cuddly toy. These creatures can't defend themselves. They cannot run away. Insanity is their only way of escape ..."
